Beating the heat

This weekend was the first HOT days of the summer... and being 9 months pregnant, it was yucky!

Saturday we spent the afternoon in the pool, and on Sunday we went and saw Transformers. The movie was long, 2.5 hrs, too long for a pregnant lady! LOL!! I went pee only once!

We then got ice cream on the way home (chocolate drumsticks-YUM~!) and headed back into the pool! AHHH!!!

Breathing room needed!

I KNOW that you all love me, and my baby... but I can't take EVERYONE feeling that this baby and it's birth is THEIR experience.

I know that this is "your grandchild/niece/nephew" but this is MY BABY.

I love you too, I want to you meet my baby and hold my baby and LOVE my baby too!!

But I need everyone to take a step back, respect my wishes, and be understanding, and patient with me.

I have to deliver via C-section, that means that I won't get to see my baby for a couple hours after this little one is born... and if I can't see the baby, YOU can't see the baby.

The hospital has rules, I have to follow them, you have to follow them, that's it. I can't change them.

What Brad and I really want is for everyone to wait till we are out of the hospital and at home to come and see us and the baby.... that's a TALL ORDER! I know! I am trying to ask anyone to wait to see the BEST THING in the world, a new baby! I KNOW! But seriously... it's not about YOU, it's about US as a family.

(Grandmas... don't worry, we won't make you wait till we come home. But nobody gets to see my baby before I do)

External Verson

Today we tried to manually turn the baby from the outside and it didn't work.

It was extremely painful and required an IV and maternal/fetal monitoring. There were two OBs who tried to "lift" the baby out of the pelvis and then turn the little one to a head down position.

The procedure is only 60% effective and even then, 7% of babies turn back around. People keep telling me that "I have time, the baby can still turn" but I highly doubt it.

This kid has been in the EXACT same position since 32 weeks (I am 36 weeks and some days now), the version didn't work, and my baby is EXACTLY the way I was when I was born.

I am thinking that there is something to the way mine and my mom's pelvis sits that causes the baby to "sit" instead of going head down.

So once the OB gets the schedule, he will contact me and we will pick a day for the C/S. He said that we will check the position of the baby BEFORE we do the C/S to make sure that the baby hasn't turned head down.

I have an ultrasound in 4 days, then another one in 6 days, so we shall see if the baby is as stubborn as it's mamma!

Vegas Baby!!!

We went to Vegas for the weekend to see The Blue Man Group. We stayed at the timeshare The Cancun Resort, on S. Las Vegas Blvd. at the south end of the strip.

It was quite crowded (even for Vegas!) but we managed OK! I was definitely tired and SORE on Sunday morning, having RAN to make it to the Blue Man show on time.

The baby either REALLY liked or disliked one part of the show... because I thought my uterus was going to JUMP OUT! I told Brad, that if that song/part didn't end that I would have to leave!

The drive there was OK, the way back... UGH... we got into the "express lane" and apparently... that means you travel about 20MPH LESS than the rest of the drivers! GURRR!!!

"Baby Model"

Poor little guy!!! We made him "test" out everything... didn't like any of it much...

He didn't like THAT! LOL!!

Graduation

Here is a picture of Dan and me, at his graduation from BIOLA University! WAY TO GO DAN!!!

It was a long day... that landed me in Labor and Delivery the next day. My blood pressure went up too high and stayed up. Of course... you get to L&D and it will start to go down! UGH!
